Mary Hurley

Background Information
Mary joined MIT in 2013 from Berklee College of Music, where she wrote successful grant proposals to national and regional foundations as well as federal and state government agencies. She began her career in higher education at Northeastern University’s Office of Corporate and Foundation Advancement. Mary has a background in journalism and was for many years a correspondent at the Boston Sunday Globe. She received a B.A. in political science from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada. Mary manages a portfolio of foundations and works with David Gordon in serving the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences , the School of Architecture + Planning, the MIT Libraries, ¬†Office of the Arts, the MIT Museum, and the List Center for the Visual Arts.
